Karin Myhre is an Associate Professor of Chinese literature and language in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Georgia.  Her research interests in pre-modern Chinese literature center on issues of perception and representation, especially as these relate to dramatic performance. Recent and upcoming publications include work on Chinese jokes and humor, drama and ritual, and images of monsters and ghosts.  Dr. Myhre has studied and worked in China and Taiwan and holds a Ph.D. in Chinese from the U.C. Berkeley.
